Drawing & Talking/Sand Tray Therapy

Drawing and Talking is a safe and gentle therapeutic intervention which allows young people to express and communicate their emotions symbolically.

Talking through their drawings in a safe environment can help the individual to make sense of their internal world, whilst at the same time processing emotions and trauma.

This therapy is a recognised alternative to CBT and suitable where talking therapies are not appropriate.

This non-directed therapeutic approach is perfect for children aged 5 –18 who:

•suffer from anxiety or stress.

•have suffered trauma.

•are experiencing parental separation/divorce.

•have been adopted/looked after.

•have suffered from the effects of domestic violence.

•have suffered loss or bereavement.

•are struggling or refusing to go to school.

Drawing skills are not necessary for this intervention!

Sand tray can also be a wonderful alternative for those who prefer this medium - no matter what age they are.
